Thomas Eugene Elliott went to be with the Lord on June 12, 2023. Thomas was born August 10, 1940 in Noel, Missouri to Jesse Elliott and Zettalu (Henson) Elliott.
Thomas received a Bachelor's Degree from Oklahoma Baptist University and retired at Tinker Air Force Base as a Material Supervisor. After retiring, he worked for the Shawnee News-Star delivering papers. Thomas loved to read, garden, watch sports such as basketball, football, and some baseball, and old westerns. Thomas was a proud veteran and felt it was an honor to serve his country in the Army.
Thomas attended New Hope Baptist Church.
Thomas met and married the love of his life, Oleta V. Hunt, on April 24, 1971 at Wesley United Methodist Church. He was a proud husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
Thomas is preceded in death by his parents Jesse Elliott and Zettalu (Henson) Elliott, and his three sisters Fern, Nadine, and Etta.
Left to cherish Thomas' memory is his wife Oleta V. Elliott of the home; daughter Kathy Baker and husband Charley of Miami, Oklahoma; son Tom Elliott and wife Gwen of Sulphur, Oklahoma; daughter Tara D. Elliott of Tucson, Arizona; stepdaughter Diana L. Heffley of Seminole, Oklahoma; stepson Dan R. McLaughlin of Seminole, Oklahoma; stepson Michael D. McLaughlin of Shawnee, Oklahoma; brother Virgil D. Elliott and wife Eilene of Texas; seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held Friday, June 16, 2023 from 4-8 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home and Memorial Park located at 44909 HWY 3, Shawnee, OK, 74801. A funeral service will be held in Thomas' honor on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 2PM at Resthaven Funeral Home and Memorial Park.
