Treisa Ann Townes

Treisa Ann Townes, 73, of Macomb, Oklahoma passed from this life Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at her home.

She was born February 25, 1949 to William Hugh “Buck” Townes and Betty Lee (Moran) Townes in Wilburton, Oklahoma.

Treisa grew up in Macomb and attended Macomb Public Schools and graduated from Macomb High School. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Education from East Central University.

Treisa retired after 32 years of service as a Teacher from Macomb Public Schools where she taught both elementary and middle school. She loved being a teacher and loved all of her students.

She was a member of The Order of Eastern Star and served as star point and deputy for several years. Treisa loved traveling with Mary, enjoyed the farm life working with Dalton, loved crossword puzzles and reading; and love making her famous Taco Soup.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Buck and Betty Townes; and brother, Frank Townes.

Survivors include niece, Heather Capron and husband Eric of Prague, OK; great-nephew, Will Capron; cousin, Betty Whiting of CA; special sister, Mary Billingsley of McAlester, OK; special brother, Dalton Marley and Pat Elder of Caruthers, CA; nephew, J.W. Billingsley of McAlester, OK; niece, Norma Dellinger of McAlester, OK; and special friends, Anthony and Sherry Hert of Sallisaw, OK; and other loving friends and former students.

Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, June 17, 2022 at Cooper Funeral Home. Graveside Service will be 2:30 p.m., Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Prairie View Cemetery in Macomb with Reverend Mike Craig, Tecumseh First Baptist Church officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
