Lecil Moon

October 28, 1931 ~ March 26, 2020

Lecil Moon, 88, of Asher, Oklahoma passed from this life on Thursday, March 26, 2020 in Tecumseh.

He was born October 28, 1931 to John and Addie (Gregory) Moon in Macomb, Oklahoma.

He was raised in the Romulus area and attended Eagle school. After the death of his father his family moved to Tecumseh and at the age of 14 he moved to Norwood, Colorado. Lecil worked as a ranch hand and loved his time in Colorado.

Lecil married Betty Patterson on July 14, 1952 in Harjo, Oklahoma. They lived in Arizona and Colorado and moved back to Oklahoma in 1953 and resided in the Macomb and Asher area.

He worked as a construction laborer, school bus driver, horse trainer, backyard veterinarian and retired from the State of Oklahoma in 1992.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Betty; brothers and sisters, Herman, Mary, infant baby Ellen, Leroy, infant baby Clarence, J.D., Lavada, Irlie, Ethel, Elbert and Dean.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Johnny Moon of Asher; daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Ron Patten of Tecumseh; 2 brothers, Kenneth and Delbert of eastern Oklahoma; grandchildren, James Moon and Monica, Jim and Amanda Patten, Tracy and Steve Taylor, Casey and Lindsey Patten, and Scott and Brandi Patten; 17 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren; and other extended family and friends.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Kelly Garcia, his hospice nurse, Heritage (Sunset Estates) and Heartland Hospice. We know these last 3 months were made easier by your loving care and friendship.

Public Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, April 6, 2020 at Cooper Funeral Home. Private Family Graveside Services will be held with Jim Patten officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
