Billie Ruth Cope Day

Billie Ruth Cope Day, Shawnee, died Thursday in Shawnee at the age of 73.

She was born to Shelby and Abba Francis Klaber Cope on March 1, 1928, in Bryant, Oklahoma.

She grew up in Ruggles and attended Ruggles schools {south of Tecumseh} and graduated from Macomb High School. In 1992, she moved to Shawnee.

On August 8, 1947, she and Glen Day were married in Gainesville, Texas.

Mrs. Day worked at Tinker Air Force Base in the aviation electronics division.

Preceding her in death were her husband, her parents and six brothers.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Susie and Jim Baugh of Macomb; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Gary Cope of Shawnee; and Buck and Lana Day of Maud; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Nell McCraw of Tecumseh; and Joan and Fred Ray of Midwest City; six grandchildren, Summer Heidtbrink, Jeff Baugh, Ron Robason, Tami Piety, Lisa Edwards and Eddy Dodson; nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday at Calvary Baptist Church. The Rev. Mike Craig will officiate. Burial will be in Prairie View Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home.
