JUANITA MARIE WOODS
1923 - 2007


Shawnee resident Juanita Marie Graham Woods, 83, died Thursday, February 1, in Shawnee.
She was born April 19, 1923, in Norman to John William and Verna Fussel Graham.
Juanita was raised on farms in the Newcastle, Norman and Blanchard areas. She attended school in Newcastle and Norman.
She was married June 10, 1948, in New Mobete, Texas, to Earl Lee Woods. He preceded her in death May 31, 1988.
Following her marriage she moved to California then to Arlington, Texas, for forty years. She moved to the Shawnee area thirteen years ago.
She worked at Douglas Aircraft Base {Tinker Air Force Base} on aircraft that was used during World War II. She also worked in dietary at elementary schools and later at Arlington Memorial Hospital.
Juanita was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was very special to family and friends alike.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; four sisters; five brothers; step-son, Jimmy Woods; and great-granddaughter, Makailah Marie Sanders-Bates.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Jo Erlene Sanders and Allen Graham of Shawnee; and Judith Ann and Butch Collier of Arlington, Texas; one son, Jerry Dwayne Woods of Shawnee; two sisters, Norma June Graham of Shawnee; and Betty Lou Anderson of Tulsa; brother, Curtis Leon Graham of Medford, Oregon; grandchildren, Amanda Marie Wallace, Bryan Eugene Sanders, Mickey Shawn Collier, James Cody Collier, Lisa Marie Caid, Jay Woods, Mike Woods, and Jennifer Woods; and many great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday at Ray Cemetery with Lester Hastings of Good Shepherd Hospice officiating.
