LILLIAN R. WOOD
1921 - 2008


SHAWNEE, Okla. — Shawnee resident, Lillian R. Alford Wood, 87, passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2008.
She was born May 8, 1921 in Coal, Oklahoma to James D. and Mary R. Farris Alford.
When Lillian was able to, she enjoyed sewing, embroidery and gardening.
She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Wood, her parents and a brother, Lee Alford.
Survivors include her children, Jean Vandewalker and husband, Leonard of Shawnee; Roger Wood of Shawnee; and Sandy Gomez and husband Jose of Tulsa; sisters, Flora Sawyers of Ada; and Beulah Polston of Chowchilla, California; grandchildren, Brenda Whitin of Dallas; Shane Wood of Canyon City, Colorado; Cynthia Allen of Canyon City, Colorado; J. J. Welton of Harrah; Kelly Vandewalker of Ft. Worth; Bud Vandewalker of Edmond; Robby Cherry of Tulsa; and Lee Wayne Cherry of Tulsa; ten great grandchildren and many other family members.
Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 3, 2009 at Dale Cemetery under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.
