LORENA MACK WOOD
1909 - 1999


Lifelong Shawnee resident Lorena Mack Wood died Saturday at a local hospital. She was 90.
Mrs. Wood was born March 7, 1909, in Shawnee.
She was married to Freeland Wood Sr.
She was a homemaker and was member of the Sallateeska Baptist Church and the Sac and Fox Nation.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, H. D. and Katie Wood of Shawnee; daughter, Patricia L. Ward of the home; adopted children, Judy, Dona, Juanita, Chester, Jerome, Don and Chub; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and children, Freeland Jr., Eddie, Bob, Jim and Edgar Wood, Betty Hernandez, Billie Joe Wood and Sue Tiger.
Services were held 2:00 p.m. Monday at Sallateeska Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Harris, Rev. Ellis Rollette and Rev. Ike Shade officiating.
Tribal Rites were held Monday evening at her residence.
Burial will be this morning at Wakolee Family Cemetery under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.
