1921 - 2016


Helen Lorene Whittall, 95, of Tecumseh, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2016 in Oklahoma City.
She was born on January 26, 1921 on a dairy farm east of Tecumseh, Oklahoma to Ely Wesley and Orpha Bowen Whittall.
Helen graduated in 1938 from Shawnee High School.
She worked in Shawnee for 45 years and retired from Federal National Bank in Shawnee in 1986 after 30 years of service.
Helen traveled 12 years with Shawnee Travel Club, visiting Alaska, Canada, Hawaii and Europe.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Tecumseh since 1944. Helen taught Sunday school for 5 years old thru grade 6 until she was 65 years old. She was a member of AARP Chapter 1527 since 1986 and a member of the Tecumseh Friends of the Library. Helen served as Board Member and Secretary/Treasurer for the Tecumseh Senior Citizen Center.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Tyson, Raymond, Haskell, Lloyd, Carl and E.W. Whittall; sister, Bessie Burrow; and nephews, Bill Whittall and Danny Whittall.
Helen is survived her nieces and nephews, Wilma Vanderburg of Kingston, Oklahoma, Ginger Harper and husband of Cypress, California, Robert Whittall of Mustang, Oklahoma, John Carl Whittall and wife of Three Rivers, California, Lloyd Whittall and wife of Alpharetta, Georgia, David Whittall and wife of Grafton, Virginia, Lawrence Whittall and wife of Norwalk, California and Jimmy Whittall and wife of Long Beach, California and many other family and friends.
Graveside Service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 14, 2016 at Tecumseh Cemetery with Reverend Tony Peak of Tecumseh First Baptist Church officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
