JUSTINE LIBBY WHITEBEAD
1933 - 1998
Justine Libby Harjo Carter Whitebead died Thursday at her home near Hinton, Oklahoma. She was 65.She was born June 23, 1934, to Raymond and Della Lasley Harjo in Pawnee, Oklahoma.She married Ray Whitebead November 6, 1958, in Wichita, Kansas.She was a resident of the Cedar Lake area for 28 years.She was employed at the Cherokee Restaurant and at the Biscuit Hill Restaurant for several years.She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hinton and the Sac and Fox Tribe.She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Della Lasley Harjo and her husband, Ray Whitebead.She is survived by her six children, Romona Rico of Oklahoma City, Eugene Harjo and his wife Marilyn of Dallas Texas, Sammy Whitebead and his wife Laura of Calumet, Oklahoma, Renee Whitebead of Oklahoma City, Denice Whitebead of Hinton and Joseph Whitebead of Hinton; ten grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one brother, Levi Coody of Meeker and one sister, Joyce Wolf of Meeker.Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday at the First Indian Baptist Church, Shawnee, with the Rev. Eugene Harjo officiating.Burial will be at Wakolee Cemetery in Shawnee, under the direction of the Turner Funeral Home, Hinton.Published October 2, 1999.
