LAWRENCE WELCH
1925 - 2000
Lawrence Welch of Shawnee died Wednesday at his home. He was 75.He was born July 30, 1925, in Shawnee, the son of John Thomas and Anna M. Scheidt Welch.He graduated from St. Benedict High School and attended St. Gregory's College and Oklahoma State University. Welch retired from civil service at Tinker Air Force Base. While employed at Tinker Air Force Base, he owned and operated Welch Heat and Air.He served in the U. S. Army during World War II and in the Air Force during the Korean conflict.Mr. Welch was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, former member of the Knights of Columbus and member of the VFW.He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Cecilia Welch and brother, John Francis Welch.Survivors include four children and their spouses, James L. and Mary Welch, Vinita; Maria Ann Welch, Tulsa; Stephen T. and Diane Welch, San Antonio, Texas; and Teresa L. and Rick Erickson of Tulsa.Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday at Calvary Cemetery with the Rev. Maurus Jaeb, O.S.B. officiating.Services are under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.
