1900 - 2004
Shawnee resident Lillian M. Windemaker Wakole, 103, died Friday, October 15, at her home.She was born November 11, 1900, in Carlisle, Pennsylvania to Josephe and Sarah Windemaker.She attended and graduated from Carlisle School.In 1920, she married Eugene Wakole in Tecumseh and was a homemaker.She attended The Negawee Methodist Church.Preceding her in death were her husband in 1973 and three children, Leona Wakole, Donna Green and Delbert Wakole.Surviving are her children and their spouses, Irene McClellan, Lois Washington, Charlotte Lane, Esther Armitage and Gene and Debbie Wakolee, all of Shawnee; Dorothy Bohannan of Santa Rosa, California, Freda and Leon West of Hutchinson, Kansas, Thelma and Edward Wilcox of Meeker and Gary Wakolee of Paden; twenty two grandchildren; thirty seven great-grandchildren and many great-great grandchildren.Services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Walker Funeral Service with Terry Jackson and Bruce Gallaway officiating.Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.After the service, the family will gather at the Sac and Fox complex at Tenth and Harrison streets in Shawnee.Published October 17, 2004.
