HAZEL GERTRUDE TABER
1915 - 2008
Shawnee resident Hazel Gertrude Reavis Taber, 92, passed away Friday, February 15, 2008, in Shawnee. She was born September 17, 1915, in Earlsboro to William P. and Neva Boyd Reavis.She married Elmer E. Taber August 24, 1935 in Shawnee and enjoyed 72 years together before his death last year.She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church where she served in many different capacities, such as the church secretary, Sunday school teacher and she sang in the choir. She loved gardening, quilting, sewing, baking and most of all, her family.She was proceeded in death by her husband, Elmer E. Taber, parents and brothers, Gerald Reavis and Truman Reavis.Survivors her children, W. E. "Ernie" Taber and wife, Barbara of Shawnee and Janita Kennedy of Cromwell, Oklahoma, siblings, Lorene Moon and husband, Glenn of Dallas, Texas, Edith Webster of Ramona, Oklahoma and Earl Reavis and wife, Beverley of Woodward, grandchildren, David Taber and wife, Dawn and their children, Ashley, Andrew and Abbey, Greg Taber and wife, Kimberley and their children, Ryan, Ethan and Madison, Robert Moneypenny, Russell Moneypenny and wife, Robin and their children, Zane and Riley, Randy Moneypenny and wife, Jan and their children, Reese and Andrew and numerous nieces and nephews.Service will be 2:00 p.m. today at Resthaven Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom E. Cox officiating.Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park.The family would like to extend a special thanks to the caring staff of Heartland Hospice and at Colonial Estates Nursing Home.
