HELEN FAYE STAUFFER
1927 - 2008


Helen Faye Stokes Stauffer was born March 11, 1927 and left this world surrounded by her loving family members on Monday, November 10, 2008.
She was born in Hobart, Oklahoma to Robert and Ethel James Stokes and raised in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Solomon Stauffer and sister, Inez Vickers.
Survivors include her son, Dr. James S. Stauffer, Jr. and his wife, Patty of Claremore, Oklahoma; two daughters, Susanne Stauffer Durr of Draper, Utah and Sara Stauffer Carter and her husband, John of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her brother, W. R. "Bill" Stokes and wife ,Joan of Arlington, Virginia; and her sister-in-law, Mary Beth Stauffer Graves of San Diego, California. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Joey Stauffer and his wife Whittney, Jonathan Stauffer and his wife Whitney, Emily Carter, Chase Carter and D. J. Carter all of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Katie Palcher and husband, Adam; Chris Durr and wife, Shannon and Kimberly Durr all of Salt Lake City, Utah. She is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Kaden and Mya Palcher also of Salt Lake City.
Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, 1400 N. Center Avenue, Shawnee, Oklahoma at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 12.
Friends are invited to join Helen’s family in a celebration of her remarkable life at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 13 at John Knox Presbyterian Church Chapel, 2929 E. 31st Street, Tulsa, OK 74105.
Helen loved animals and supported dog rescue organizations especially the Oklahoma Boston Terrier Rescue Society. If you are so inclined, the family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the OBTRS c/o Spirit Bank, 1315 E. Taft, Sapulpa, Oklahoma 74066; an animal rescue organization of your choice or John Knox Presbyterian Church.
