SONNY SPRAY
1938 - 2013


Sonny Spray, age 74 of Wanette, passed away Thursday May 30, 2013 at Purcell Municipal Hospital.
He was born on July 3, 1938 in Holdenville, Oklahoma.
He was the 5th child of nine children born to Jack Spray and Lucille {Davis} Spray.
Sonny grew up in California and at the age of 18 years old he enlisted into the United States Air Force. After serving three years from 1956-1959, he was honorably discharged and returned home to California.
He later began raising a family while living and working in California. Then in 1976, he moved to Wanette, Oklahoma and later married his high school sweetheart, Priscilla {Smith} Roberts. They were married on September 23, 1994 and made their home on a small acreage outside of Wanette.
Sonny worked most of his life as an over the road trucker. However some of his most memorable years as a truck driver were the years he was a bull hauler. Throughout his life he has been an avid fisherman. Other hobbies include reading western novels, driving his tractor and keeping things up around the home and spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Lucille Spray; his brothers, J. C., Darrel, Bill, and Donald Wayne Spray.
He is survived by his wife, Priscilla of the home; six children, Jerry Spray and wife Shelly of Splendora, Texas; Sonny Spray Jr. of Bakersfield, California; Tammy Lynn Mazera and husband P. J. of Thompson Station, Tennessee; Mikeal Allan Spray and wife Debra of Bakersfield, California; Debbie Sue Battles and husband Cliff of Dos Palos, California; Cathy Jo Moody and husband Chris of Chino Valley, Arizona; one brother, Jim Spray of Allen, Oklahoma; three sisters, Thelma Thomas of Brownsville, California; Della Hays of Shawnee, Oklahoma; Aline Manley and husband Jim of Yukon, Oklahoma; two step-children: Ronda Roberts and husband Jesse of Slaughterville, OK Vincent Roberts of Moore, OK 22 grandchildren 2 step grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
Memorial Services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Monday, June 3, 2013, at the Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel in Purcell.
