1954 - 2016
Christopher "Chris" Rigney, 61, of McLoud, Oklahoma passed away Monday, September 19, 2016 in Oklahoma City.He was born October 12, 1954 to Levert and Francis Grove Rigney in Shawnee, Oklahoma.Chris was raised in Shawnee and attended Shawnee Public Schools. He was a 1973 graduate of Shawnee High School.He married Donna Kay Jones on December 15, 1973 in Shawnee, Oklahoma.Chris worked for many years as a meat cutter. He has worked as a machinist for George Fisher Central Plastics since 1996.Chris enjoyed deer hunting, motorcycles, woodworking and gardening. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren; they were the focal point of his life.He was preceded in death by his parents, Levert and Francis Rigney and brother L. C. "June" Rigney.Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Donna Kay Rigney of the home, daughter and son-in-law, Traci and Tom Keel of Newalla, Oklahoma, son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Shawna Rigney of Shawnee, Oklahoma, four grandchildren, Paisley Keel, Drew Keel, Kaitlyn Rigney and Kolbe Rigney, mother-in-law, Jackie Jones of Shawnee, Oklahoma, three sisters, Sue Hawkins, Shirley and Andy Sumner and Sheila and Bert Albers, two brothers, Syl Rigney and Bill and Beth Rigney and other extended family and friends.Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 23, 2016 and continue through service time. Service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Brad Rigney officiating.Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Shawnee under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
