DALE LEE POPE
1951 - 2014


Dale Lee Pope, age 62 of Tecumseh, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2014 at his home.
Dale was born October 20, 1951 in Purcell, Oklahoma, the oldest of three children born to George Lee Pope and Catherine {Frankenberg} Pope.
He was raised in Wayne and attended Wayne Schools, graduating in 1969. Dale then attended the Oklahoma State University where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Education. He began his career teaching in Western Oklahoma. He worked several years as a Vocation Agriculture Teacher, before moving back to Washington, where he taught, and served as school Principal. During this time, he returned to school and received his Master's Degree in Education.
Dale married Judy Ann Andrews from Washington on June 17, 1994. They made their home there for a short time before moving to Tecumseh. Dale accepted a position as Superintendent at Pleasant Grove Schools; a position he remained in until his retirement.
Dale loved people and his love for his animals only fueled his passion for attending livestock shows. He enjoyed visiting and sharing his experiences. In his spare time, he liked fishing in his stocked pond. Dale was an avid collector and would take on all sorts of collectibles and just " stuff ". He will be dearly missed!
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Catherine Pope.
He is survived by his wife, Judy of the home; his son, Chad Pope and wife Jordan of Shawnee, Oklahoma; three step sons, Darin Evans and wife Melissa of Stratford, Oklahoma; Vince Evans of Lexington and Kyle Evans of Tecumseh; his brother, Pat Pope and wife Mary Ann of Purcell; his niece and nephew Kelly Deveraux and Heath Pope; his sister, Brenda Pope of Pauls Valley; his niece, Niki Cheatham of Pauls Valley; grandchildren, Courtney, D. J., Dylan, Tristian, Kaylee, Trevor, Josh, Justin, Jacob, Haley, Becca Rae, and a host of other family and friends.
Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 17, 2014, at the Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel.
