CORKY MARY PETREE
1927 - 2016


Shawnee resident, Corky Mary Corzine Petree, 88, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, March 12, 2016.
She was born July 30, 1927 in Seminole to Idus Lemuel and Bertha Elizebeth Burnes Corzine.
Corky attended school in Norman, and in her adolescent years she delivered milk and eggs to her mother's customers by bicycle.
She married Donald C. Petree on June 25, 1972.
Corky wore many hats throughout her life. She was a dental assistant and nurse, she owned a concession trailer, she owned Corky's Place in Shawnee and the Silver Sword Club in Oklahoma City.
Her passions in life included music and volunteering. Corky learned to play the piano at a young age. She wrote and recorded her own religious songs. She loved to travel with her husband, volunteer her time at church, nursing homes and other programs.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don Petree; sisters, Opal Jackson and Ruby Gains; brother, Mark Corzine; nieces, Glady Duvaland and Jacque Jackson and nephew, Harold Jackson.
Those left to cherish their memories are her niece and caregiver, Floia Williams of the home; dear friends, Juanita Pringle and Bill and Mary Weeks and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Resthaven Funeral Home.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Liberty Baptist Church with Bro. Phil Thompson officiating.
Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
