AGNES ELIZABETH MILLER
1909 - 2000
Former Shawnee resident Agnes Elizabeth Reynolds Miller, 90, died Saturday in Oklahoma City.She was born November 29, 1909, near Manitou in Tillman county, the oldest of eight children of Fred and Lenore Reynolds.The family moved to Shawnee in 1922 from a farm south of McLoud.She graduated from St. Benedict High School in 1927.Her first job was with Tom Douglas Insurance Agency. In the 1930s she moved to Seminole when she took a job as a stenographer.She married B. D. "Jerb" Miller in 1936.Mrs. Miller was a lifetime member of the American Contract Bridge and was the first Life Master in Mexico.The Millers lived in Farmington, New Mexico in the 1950's and '60s while her husband operated an oil field tool company and she owned and operated an antique shop. They also lived in Odessa, Texas, and Tucson, Arizona.She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a sister and four brothers.Survivors include two brothers, Pat Reynolds, Oklahoma City; and Gene Reynolds, Hot Springs Village, Arkansas; and numerous nieces and nephews.A wake will be held 6:00 p.m. today at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.Services will be noon Wednesday at St. Benedict Catholic Church with the Rev. Maurus Jaeb, O.S.B., officiating.Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.
