JIMMIE DAVID MEEK
1941 - 2010
Jimmie David Meek, 69, of Shawnee, died Wednesday, December 29, 2010, at a local hospital.Jimmie was born June 16, 1941, in Shawnee, the son of David and Cleo Meek.He was a 44-year member of the A.W.G. Teamster's Union.He married Vada Cuppawhe.He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert and Johnny Meek; sister, Linda and step-brother, Philip Meek.He is survived by his wife, Vada Meek, of the home; two children, Jimmie Meek, Jr., and wife, Patricia of Florida; Phillip Meek and wife, Lillie of Texas; two step-children, Roger Blood of Shawnee and Annetta Harper of Shawnee; three grandchildren; four step grandchildren; sisters, Rilla Maxwell of Shawnee and Cleta of Oklahoma City; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family and friends.The family would like to thank those who are helping, especially those preparing the food and those preparing the grave.Wake service will be Friday evening at 5409 N. Bryan.Burial will be at 9:00 a.m. Saturday at Wakolee Cemetery.Services are under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.Published December 31, 2010.
