MAXINE V. McQUEENEY
1914 - 1998
Shawnee resident Maxine V. Lyons McQueeney died Saturday at a local hospital. She was 84.Mrs. McQueeney was born November 6, 1914, in Bradford, Pennsylvania to Dan and Viola Lyons.She married Francis McQueeney on April 20, 1935, in Limestone, New York.She attended St. Bernard's Catholic School in Bradford, Pennsylvania.She lived in Bolivar, New York before moving to Shawnee in 1953. She was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church and the Altar and Sponsa Regis Societies.Survivors include her husband, Francis McQueeney, of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Marie McQueeney, Shawnee; two grandchildren and their spouses, Stephanie and David Morgan, Yukon; Michelle and Dave Gau, Oklahoma City; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Connie Moffatt of Adelphi, Maryland.She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Carol Francis McQueeney; four sisters and two brothers.Vigil and rosary will be 7:00 p.m. Monday at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. Benedict Catholic Church with Rev. Charles Massoth, O.S.B. officiating.Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
