1941 - 2002
Judy Faye Sanders Matthews, 60, of Shawnee died Monday.She was born September 2, 1941 in Fresno, California, to Fred and Mary Sanders.She was a lifelong resident of Shawnee.She married Johnny Matthews August 10, 1957 in Gainesville, Texas.She was a homemaker.She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, Dick Walker; a grandson, David Bynum Jr.; and a great-grandson, James Darty.She is survived by her husband, Johnny Matthews of the home; three daughters, Molly Bynum of Shawnee; Ratheda Black of Oklahoma City; and Sherrii Rhodes of Shawnee; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Randy Sanders of Virginia; and Fred Sanders of Shawnee; a cousin, Mary Hastings of Shawnee; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.Graveside services are 2:00 p.m. Friday at Neal Cemetery with Don Poe officiating.Services are under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.Published July 25, 2002.
