1937 - 2011
Megal Matapene, age 74, of Harrah, Oklahoma, was born on September 18, 1937, in Mexico.He was the son of Bertha Matapene.He left this life on Friday, October 28, 2011, in Harrah, Oklahoma.He graduated from Harrah High School in 1958. He proudly served in the U.S. Army.Megal loved sports and OU football. He enjoyed country music and eating and spending time with his family. He spent a lot of time at the Harrah Senior Center playing dominoes, dancing and going on field trips. He enjoyed his times with friends there.A special thanks to Harriet Lillard for her loving and tender companionship with our father.Megal was preceded in death by his mother; his wife, Betty; brother, Martin Green; and sister, Chasey Serrato.Survivors include his two daughters and son-in-law, Penny Matapene, Harrah, Oklahoma; Pam and Charles Shepherd, Owasso, Oklahoma; brother, Raymond Green, McLoud, Oklahoma; sister, Delores Stephens, Alaska; one granddaughter, Megan Shepherd; and many other relatives and friends.Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 31, 2011, at Memory Lane Cemetery, Harrah, Oklahoma.Services are under the direction of Smith-Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, Oklahoma.
