LOREIDA FRANCIS LLOYD
1911 - 2012
Loreida Francis Stewart Lloyd, a longtime Cushing resident passed away at the Cushing Regional Hospital on June 5, 2012 at the age of 101.She was born on March 17, 1911 in Trousdale, Oklahoma to the late Kellie and Lydia Landon Stewart.She grew up in Shawnee, graduating from Shawnee High School in 1929.Loreida worked as a beautician for many years.She married Morris Lloyd on December 7, 1933 in Chandler, Oklahoma. They moved to Cushing in 1942 and became members of the First Baptist Church in Cushing in 1952.She enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting, playing cards, dancing and listening to the bands. Loreida was a PTA room mom at school for many years. She took care of her family, worked and helped at the Stewart’s grocery store on weekends in Shawnee for many years.Loreida is survived by her daughter Barbara Ann Roll and husband Jim of Cushing, Oklahoma; grandchildren Jamie Hughes and husband Allen of Montrose, Colorado; Jonie Roll and husband Duane Spickler of Bakersfield, California; great grandchildren Airika Romsdahl, Shane Singer, Kelly Hughes and Rebecca Grace Spickler; one great great granddaughter Sophie Romsdahl; as well as other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Morris Lloyd; brother A. C. Stewart; and sisters Aline Stephen and Louise Jackson.Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Shawnee, Oklahoma.Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing.
