1948 - 2010
Macomb resident Johnny D. Lee died Monday, January 4, 2010, in Oklahoma City at the age of 61.He was born September 27, 1948, in Hobart to John Marvin and Mildred Jan Branch Lee.He was born and raised in Hobart. In the 6th grade, he and his family moved to Macomb where he graduated from Macomb High School.He served with the Marine Corps in Viet Nam from 1969 - 1970.He returned to the Del City and Harrah area until moving to Macomb in 1981 where he and his wife have resided since.On July 28, 1967 he married Anne Bowerman in Shawnee.He worked at Tinker Air Force Base until his retirement.He was a member of Romulus Baptist Church, where he served as chairman of the New Fellowship Building Committee.He served on the Macomb School Board for fifteen years.He held a black belt in Kenpo, had a passion for building and riding his bike and loved playing with his grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepfather, Edward Lasenberry.Survivors include his wife, Anne Lee of Macomb; three sons and daughters-in-law, Dale and Renee of Moore, Jason and Angela of Edmond and Justin and Jennifier of Brooklyn, New York; daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Chad Kirkpatrick of Macomb; sister and brother-in-law, Janie and Bill Shinn of Aransas Pass, Texas; nine grandchildren; many nieces and nephews as well as numerous friends.The family has designated the Romulus Fellowship Hall Building Fund as appropriate for memorials.Service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 7, at Romulus Baptist Church with Tony Black officiating.Burial will be at Romulus Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
