1934 - 2000
Billy Joe Lee of Shawnee died Tuesday at a local hospital. He was 66.Mr. Lee was born August 15, 1934, in Shawnee to Robert E. and Vera Tindell Lee.He married Wanda Mae Marrs in 1972 in Shawnee.He was a machinist and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.Survivors include his wife, Wanda Mae Lee, Shawnee; two sons and daughter-in-law, Fred Holson, Claremore; Robert and Penny Lee, Norman; five daughters and sons-in-law, Elaine and Dennis Penson, Bethany; Linda Lee, Shawnee; Carol and Charles Abel, Ponca City; Sharon and Jack Wescot, Tecumseh; Bobbi Cullins, Shawnee; two sisters, Rebecca Wilkerson, Midwest City; Phyllis Weed, Grand Perry, Texas; sixteen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, one stepson, Michael Burnham, Holdenville; and two stepdaughters, Jennifer Burnham, Shawnee; and Sharon and Randy Kemerly of Oklahoma City.He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one grandson.Services were held Friday at Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Bill Matthews officiating.Burial was in Neal Cemetery.Published November 25, 2000.
