1914 - 2007
Lifelong Shawnee resident Naomi B. Woods Lane, 92, passed away Thursday, January 4, at Solara Hospital in Shawnee."Pagee" as she was affectionately known, was recovering from hip surgery on December 9.Naomi was born October 5, 1914 in Shawnee.She attended Harrison Grade School and graduated from Shawnee High School and also attended Oklahoma Baptist University in 1930-1931.She married C. O. "Kid" Lane on June 29, 1932, in Shawnee.He preceded her in death in September 1997.She was a wife, mother and homemaker. She began working for Sears in 1956 and retired in 1975. Naomi was a member of the First Baptist Church of Shawnee and was a member of the Marry Sunday School Class, the Senior Choir and a member of Beta Sigma Phi Laureate Sigma Chapter since 1958. She enjoyed playing bridge and was active in two groups up until her passing.Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Howard and Pat Lane of Dallas, Texas; one daughter and son-in-law, Mona and Jim Haig of Shawnee; four granddaughters, Debby Lane-Huelsenberg and husband Stephen of Carrollton, Texas; Kathy Lane Fulmer and husband Kirk of Dallas; Laura Lane Brewer and husband Layne of Denton, Texas; and Sue Lynn Martin and husband Jim of Pensacola, Florida; four great-granddaughters, Alyssa Lane-Huelsenberg and Katelyn Lane-Huelsenberg, Madelynn Lane Martin, Katheryn Lucille Martin of Pensacola; one step-grandson, Patrick Haig of Fort. Campbell, Kentucky; several nieces, nephews and cousins.Services will be 2:00 p.m. today at Resthaven Funeral Chapel with the Reverend J. C. Farrand officiating.Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.Published January 6, 2007.
