1942 - 2015
Gayle Downey Keesee, age 72 of Wanette, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Purcell Municipal Hospital.She was born December 18, 1942 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was the 2nd child of six children born to Alfred A. Downey and Anna Mae Norris.Gayle grew up in the Oklahoma City area and attended Crooked Oak Schools.She later met and married the love of her life, Alfred Keesee of Wanette. They were married on April 13, 1962 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. Together they made their home in the Wanette area and raised two children, Sherrie and Don. For over 40 years, Gayle worked as a secretary in the family business “Wanette Tractors”.She was a past member of the Corbett Baptist Church and was currently attending the Fresh Spring Church in Trousdale, Oklahoma with her grandchildren.Gayle loved music and was a talented singer. Her favorite music to sing was gospel and country music.She was a great cook, a wonderful wife, mother and great grandmother.She took great pride in babysitting. It didn’t matter who’s baby it was, a friends, a grandchild or a niece or nephew, she loved them all.She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Anna Mae Downey; mother-in-law, Myrtle Close; daughter-in-law, Rita Keesee; brother-in-law, Kenneth Keesee; and nephew, Eddie Ray Keesee.She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Alfred Keesee of the home in Wanette; Children, Sherri Forman and husband Mark of Wanette; Don Keesee and wife Carla of McLoud; four grandchildren, Donnell and Chad Koster, Cody and Bobbi Keesee, Corey Forman and Mya Forman; five great grandchildren, Austin, Caitlin, Chase, Braxton and Brooklyn; two sisters, Diane Burger and husband Steve of Rush Springs; Hilda Hunter and husband Earl of Bridge Creek; three brothers, Don Downey and wife Mandy of McLoud; Alfred Downey and wife Debbie of Norman; Leonard Downey and wife Tammy of Lindsay; brother-in-law, Coy Keesee and wife Allena of Wanette; sister-in-law, Katherine Curry and husband John of OKC; also many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Wanette, OK.Interment will be at the Wanette Cemetery.Arrangements are with Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.
