BETTYE JEAR JONES
1935 - 2007
Maud resident Bettye Jear Cook Randall Jones passed from this life, Sunday, July 29, in Shawnee at the age of 72.
She was born May 4, 1935, in Fannin County, Texas, to Noble K. Cook and Lillie Taylor Cook.
Following her graduation from high school, Bettye attended North Texas Business College. She was also a member of Southmayd Baptist Church in Texas.
Bettye married her first husband, Ray Randall. He preceded her in death in 1967.
On January 3, 1968, she married C. A. Jones Jr. in Sherman, Texas.
Bettye was a mother and a homemaker.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her first husband; one sister, Ava Turman; and one brother-in-law, Herbert Brown.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, C. A. Jones of the home in Maud; one daughter and son-in-law, Casey and Larry Garren of Maud; two sons and daughters-in-law, Allen and Jenetta Jones of Pottsboro, Texas; and Randy and Trish Jones of Sherman, Texas; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Alice and Woodie Simmons of Kemp, Texas; and Billie Brown of Grand Prarie, Texas; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Kirby of Howe, Texas; and Berniece and husband, Lewis Williams, of Sherman, Texas; brothers-in-law, Bill Jones and wife, Tina of Southmayd, Texas; and Bill Turman of Southmayd, Texas; five grandchildren, Jessica Jones of Gunter, Texas; Josh Jones of Sherman; Kaley Garren of Maud; Jordy Garren of Maud and Robert Rodriguez of Maud.
Viewing will be from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. today until service time on Thursday.
Service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Baptist Church in Maud with the Rev. Carl Whitfield and Chaplin Donnie Knight officiating.
Burial will follow at Cummings Cemetery in Maud.
