1913 - 2003
Patricia Sue Shields Johnston Thomas, 90, a homemaker, died December 28, 2003 in Guthrie, Oklahoma.
A graveside service will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Shawnee, Oklahoma on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m.

Patsy was born March 24, 1913 in Haileyville, Oklahoma to Walter H. and Maude Kitchell Shields.
The family moved to Shawnee, Oklahoma in 1926 where Patsy graduated from Shawnee High School in 1930. She attended Oklahoma City University.
She married her high school sweetheart, William E. "Bill" Johnston, also a student at OCU. The couple eloped to Lawton, Oklahoma and were married by the Reverend John H. Lamb, who was also the great grandfather of a future granddaughter in law.
Patsy and Bill were charter members of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Oklahoma City.
Bill died in May 1957. Patsy married Lewis C. Thomas, a native of Ada, Oklahoma in March 1969 and they retired to Guthrie in 1974. Lewis died on January 1, 1999.
Surviving are four children and one step daughter, Judy Johnston Turner and husband Ben of Edmond, Oklahoma; Linda Johnston Stoneman of Santa Rosa, California; Pat Johnston and wife Jan of Oklahoma City; Mike Johnston of Oklahoma City and Virginia Thomas Schubert and husband, Dick of McLean, Virginia. Also surviving are grandchildren, Margaret Sue "Peggy" Turner of Oklahoma City; Patricia Turner Hopkins and husband, Glenn of Rocky Point, New York; William B. Turner, Ph.D. of Madison, Wisconsi; Timothy G. Turner and wife Melissa of Edmond, Oklahoma; Elizabeth Turner Janney and husband, Jeff of Cleveland Heights, Ohio; Master Sgt. Gary Stoneman and wife Rachel of Barksdale AFB, Lousiana; Lee Stoneman of El Reno, Oklahoma; Michael R. Johnston and wife Jenny of Omaha, Nebraska; Kelsey Johnston of Norman, Oklahoma and Kristin and Matthew Johnston of Oklahoma City. Patsy is also survived by seven great grandchildren.
Patsy's first husband, Bill, was the youngest of six children. She always said she married him for his family since she was an only child. She is the last of that generation.
Surviving from the next generation in Oklahoma City are nieces and nephews, Beverly Carr Gray, John Carr, Jim Carr, Jeanette Johnston Caston, Nancy Johnston Records and Charles R. "Bob" Neale.
The family is especially grateful to the staff and caregivers at Golden Age Nursing Home in Guthrie and Odyssey Health Care, Inc.
Services are under the direction of the Smith Funeral Home, Guthrie, Oklahoma.
