ELSIE VIRGINIA JEFFRIES
1907 - 2005
Funeral service for Elsie Virginia Jeffries, 97, of Chickasha, Oklahoma will be held at 2:30 p.m., Monday, February 7, 2005 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home, Chickasha.
Elsie Virginia Jeffries was born October 3, 1907 in Tecumsah Oklahoma and died February 4, 2005 after a brief illness at the age of 97 years, four months, and one day. She was the daughter of James and Nevada Martin and was married to Everett R. Jeffries, Sr. on April 4, 1925, Chickasha, Oklahoma. They were married for 69 years. She lived on the farm in the Amber Community for well over 65 years.
Elsie was a member of the Grand Assembly of God Church in Chickasha.
She loved sports and was a member of several bowling leagues over the past several years, bowling until the age of 90.
She was also a member of the Bittercreek Home Demonstration Club for many year.
Elsie was preceded in death by her husband Everett and two sons, James Glen, Berney Jeffries, and one great great grandson, Logal Kyler Wigley Armstring.
Survivors include Everett Jeffries, Jr., and his wife Maxine of Amber; Melba and husband Bill Hambleton of Fresno, California, daughter-in-law, Jean Jeffries of Amber; Barbara and her husband Roy Mosier of Blanchard; and Jerry Jeffries of Chickasha. Her family also includes 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Tuttle, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Association, cancer research, Chickasha Hospice or your personal choice.
