LEWIS ANDREW HERRON
1941 - 2008


Mr. Lewis Andrew “Andy” Herron, 67, departed this life Wednesday, October 1, 2008, at Ardmore.
Andy was born April 12, 1941, at Lawton to the late Mr. James Louis Herron and Mrs. Nettie Ella Rayfield Herron.
He was raised in Earlsboro, later moving to Tecumseh in 1956. He joined the United States Air Force in 1960. During his military service, Andy served two tours in Vietnam and retired from the United States Air Force as an E6 Tech Sgt serving as a vehicle operations supervisor.
Leaving the Air Force, Andy lived at Kerrville, Texas, and was employed as a Propane Delivery Operator. He returned to Oklahoma, living first at Tecumseh, being employed for the Corporation Commission, Propane Energy Division. He would later move to Ratliff City where he owned and operated “Andy’s Propane” for several years.
At Ratliff he once served as the Mayor and enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing dominoes at Marty’s Convenience Store.
Preceding him in death are his parents, and brother, Loyd Barnes.
Survivors include his son, Robbie Herron and wife Kathleen of Partlow, Virginia; four brothers, Roy Barnes and wife Maxine of Healdton; Bud Herron and wife Gerty of Killeen, Texas; Earl Herron of Maud; and Eueil Herron and wife Tawana of Midwest City; two sisters, Ruby Tiffany and husband Bill of Disney, Oklahoma; and Edna West of Shawnee; special friend, Velva Perkins of Ratliff City; numerous other family and friends.
Family visitation will be from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. today at the funeral Home in Ratliff City.
Funeral rites for Mr. Lewis Andrew Herron, 67, of Ratliff City, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church in Ratliff City with the Rev. Dwight Hawkins and the Rev. Mike Cox officiating.
Interment will follow at Brown Cemetery in Pink at 3:00 p.m. with the Rev. Lonnie Hurst officiating and the United States Air Force providing Military Honors.
Funeral Rites are being conducted under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home in Ratliff City.
Casket Bearers are Glenn Hurst, David Morse, Tony Ruth, Luke Clour, Robert Butler and Horace Lee Fogle.
Honorary Bearer will be Mr. Slim Clagg.
