DONALD KEITH HARMON SR.
1931 - 2015
Donald Keith Harmon, Sr., 83, lifelong resident of Tecumseh passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at his home.
He was born in Tecumseh on October 19, 1931 to John Arthur and Mary Alice Harris Harmon.
Don was raised in Tecumseh and attended Tecumseh Schools until 1946.
He married Barbara Ann Neighbors on August 26, 1955 in Tecumseh, Oklahoma.
Don was drafted into the Army and served from October 1952 to 1954 and was a veteran of the Korean War. He returned home and worked at Tinker Air Force Base for 32 years.
He was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing his fiddle with several Bluegrass music groups. Don was a kind and loving person, always ready to help.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Kelly Harmon of Tecumseh; daughter, Shelli Ann Barnett of Shawnee; 6 grandchildren, Charsee Isenhower and Ashley, Jamie and Jeremy Butler, Donnie and Jenell Harmon, Chandra and Kevin Hauge, Jenifer Davis and Kevin O’Neil Barnett; 6 great-grandchildren, Ayden Christy, Izabel Christy, Aurora Harmon, Omri Harmon, Avery Davis and Carissa Hauge; sister, Shirley Skelly; niece, Christy Clark, husband, Lee and daughter, Erin; and other extended family and friends.
Visitation will begin 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 1, 2015 and continue through service time. Family gathering to meet with friends will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at Cooper Funeral Home. Service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Larry Sparks of Blackburn Chapel Baptist Church officiating.
Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
