DELMER LEROY GREEN
1927 - 2016
Delmer Leroy Green was born on July 7, 1927, in Prague, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Sunday, January 24, 2016, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, at the age of 88.
Delmer, the son of George Dewey and Sarah Ann Phoebe Ellison Green, was a resident of Collinsville.
He graduated from Centerview High School with the class of 1945 and attended Oklahoma A&M and Central State Teacher’s College. He proudly served his country in the United States Army.
Delmer married Wanda Lou Bland on February 14, 1945, in Oklahoma City. They remained married until her death in 2008.
He worked as an engineer for Rockwell International until retirement in 1990. He was particularly proud of his work with the NASA Space Shuttle program. Delmer was an avid coin collector and gardener.
Delmer’s parents, wife, infant daughter and two sisters, Inez Moydell and Alene Williams preceded him in death.
Survivors include daughters, Janie Green of Tulsa and Suzie Easton of Tulsa; Grandson, Rev. Jon Denney and his wife, Sharon of Smithville, Missouri; granddaughter, Cindy Easton of Euless, Texas; great grandson, Stephen Timothy Denney of Smithville; great granddaughter, Rachel Suzanne Denney of Smithville; brothers-in-law, Bob Bland of Prague and David Bland of Prague; sister-in-law, Joyce McCool of Overland Park, Kansas and other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at 2:00 p.m., at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague with Bro. Tim Emmons officiating.
Interment will follow at Garden Grove Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
