LAVERNE MORRIS GILSTRAP
1930 - 2007
Shawnee resident Laverne Morris Gilstrap, 86, died Sunday, December 31, at Colonial Estates in Shawnee.Laverne was born March 20, 1930 in Seminole to Frank and Mary Morris.She was a member of Heritage Church and was a volunteer for seventeen years at Mission Hill Hospital.Preceding her in death were her husband, Bud Grant Gilstrap, her parents and four siblings, Bob Morris, Johnnie Morris, Lucille Sheets and Lewis Morris.Survivors include her children, Jim Gilstrap and wife Nancy of Texas and John Gilstrap and wife Melody of Tulsa, sister, Lenore Travis of California, grandchildren, Landon, Spencer, Adam Gilstrap, J. Grant Gilstrap and Courtney Gilstrap; one great-grandchild, Conner Grant Gilstrap and special friends, Bill and Mary Weeks, Dorothy Epperson, Clara Collins, Arthur and Julie Gregory.Visitation will be noon - 8:00 p.m. today.Service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel.Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park.Published January 3, 2007.
