Longtime Meeker resident Hugh A. Forehand died Thursday in Shawnee at the age of 82.He was born August 24, 1915, in Byars to Andy B. and Myrtle Gallemore Forehand.He married Ruth Lamkin in Channing, Texas, on August 31, 1940. They had lived in Meeker since moving from the Texas panhandle in 1960.Mr. Forehand served in the U. S. Air Force during World War II, retired from Tinker Air Force Base and was a farmer and rancher. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Meeker.Surviving are his wife, Ruth Forehand, of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Hugh Allen and Phyllis Forehand, Meeker; sons, Kenneth Wayne Forehand, Meeker; Jerrald Ray Forehand, Oklahoma City; daughter and son-in-law, Roberta Ilene and Jim Akins, Tecumseh; daughter-in-law, Gwen Forehand, Tucson, Arizona; brother Ray Forehand, Rogers, Arkansas; sister, Margaret Mae Conrad, Norman; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; as well as other relatives and friends.Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Voy Jay Forehand and Karl Forehand, and son, Hugh Arthur Forehand.Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday at Meeker First Baptist Church with the Rev. Edward Schauer and the Rev. Jeff Jinks officiating.Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park, Shawnee.Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Prague, but visitation will be from noon today until 9 a.m. Monday at Parks Brothers Chapel in Meeker.Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Meeker.
