DON B. EDWARDS
1912 - 1997


Longtime Shawnee resident Don B. Edwards died Tuesday at a local nursing home at the age of 84.
He was born December 12, 1912, in Pauls Valley to John and Berta Stevenson Edwards.
He graduated from high school at White Bead, Oklahoma and married Leona Irick on May 5, 1934, in Oklahoma City.
He lived in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma City and other areas before moving to Shawnee in 1944, and had worked in the oil fields and in construction before his retirement.
Surviving are his wife, Leona Edwards, of the home; brother, Cleo Edwards, Shawnee; sisters, Marie Edgar, Alene Peek, both of Oklahoma City; grandsons, Paul Lynam, Colorado; and Mike Lynam, Dallas, Texas; five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, six sisters, and one daughter, Beverly Lyman.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday at Central Church of Christ with Dwyane Dennis officiating.
Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.
The casket will remain open until services begin.
