AGNES STELLA DePRIEST
1924 - 2009
Agnes Stella Muzny Sires DePriest went to celebrate her new life with the Lord on Sunday, September 20, 2009, in Shawnee at the age of 85.She was born on June 29, 1924 in Sparks to M. J. and Stella Frances Piter Muzny. She was one of six children.She graduated from Prague High School in 1942.In November of 1942 she married Leo G. Sires and from that union one son, Glen Sires, was born. On June 29, 1957, she married John N. DePriest, who preceded her in death.She loved spending time at family gatherings, sewing, dancing and cooking. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.She was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Golden Hearts Guild, Birthday Girls and Piecemakers.Preceding her in death were her parents, M. J. and Stella Muzny; her husband, John DePriest; one brother, Raymond Muzny and special friend, M.D. Fowler.She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Glen and Anna Sires of Shawnee; two granddaughters and their husbands, Heather and Brian Moore of Tecumseh; and Crystal and Pete Barger of Shawnee; one grandson and his wife, Kyle and Anitra Sires of Stillwater; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Lorena and Earl Neighbors of Edmond; Betty Day-Lucy of Edmond; Rosalee and Darrell Maynard; one brother and sister-in-law, Al and Vanita Muzny of Oklahoma City; three great-granddaughters, Jordyn Moore and Gracie Moore of Tecumseh; and Elle Ryan Barger of Shawnee; three great-grandsons, Garvin Sires, Joey Sires and Ethan Sires of Stillwater; special great-grandsons, Ian and Keenan McCathern of Stillwater; eight nieces and seven nephews.Wake service will be 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 23, at Cooper Funeral Home.Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 24, at St. Benedict Catholic Church with Father Don Wolf officiating.Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery.To share memories, or to sign the guest book online, go to www.cooperfuneral.com.Published September 22, 2009.
