1911 - 1997
Tecumseh resident Beulah Harper Cox died Thursday in Tecumseh at the age of 86.She was born January 9, 1911, in Mountain Home, Arkansas, to Aubrey Chester and Theodocia Crownover Harper.She attended school in Shawnee.She married Robert E. Cox on November 6, 1929, in Tecumseh.She owned and operated a laundry in Tecumseh with her husband, and she later worked as a housemother at Girl's Town until her retirement in 1973.Mrs. Cox was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God in Shawnee.Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Levi Shankle of Tecumseh; Ima Jean and Arvil Cox of Harrah; two grandchildren, Robert Cox of Woodward; and Vickie Goodin of Booneville, Arkansas; seven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Bernice Beal of Tecumseh; and a special cousin, Kenneth Crownover of El Reno.She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Cox, on October 30, 1957, and by her parents.Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Pentecostal Church of God in Shawnee with Pastor Wayne Bryant officiating, assisted by Associate Pastor Kevin Roland.Burial will be at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home in Tecumseh.
