WILLARD CHAMBERS
1914 - 2008
Longtime Earlsboro resident Willard Chambers, 93, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2008, in Tecumseh.He was born October 2, 1914, in Council Hill, Oklahoma to Percy and Lela Self Chambers.Willard graduated from Harjo High School.He married Ima Jean Bristow October 13, 1937, and they spent 62 years together before her death in 1999.They moved to Earlsboro in 1927 and lived on Chambers Road, which they named after him 5 years ago, for 80 years. Willard was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. He was a farmer/rancher his entire life. He loved gardening and was very proud of his tomatoes. He also loved to hunt, fish and play dominos.Willard was a very generous person to anyone he saw in need and will be remembered for his love, humor, and graciousness.He was preceded in death by his wife, Ima Chambers, parents, seven brothers and one sister.He is survived by his children, Ron Chambers of Cabot, Arkansas,and Claude Chambers of Earlsboro, eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and one sister, Addie Mae Van Antwerp.Visitation will be 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. today.Service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Resthaven Funeral Home with the Rev. Keith Henley officiating.Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
