1946 - 1997
Shawnee resident James H. Bugg died Tuesday at a local nursing home. He was 50.He was born December 3, 1946, in Shawnee, to Hershal I. Bugg and Geraldine Hoover Bugg Buoy.He graduated from Carrollton {Missouri} High School in 1965.He was in the U. S. Air Force and served in the military police. He served in the Philippines, Vietnam and Korea.Mr. Bugg was a long-time emergency medical technician and police officer at Forest Park {Oklahoma City} and in Maud.He lived in and around Shawnee most of his life. He was a member of the Carrollton First Baptist Church in Carrollton, Missouri and a member of the VFW.Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Geraldine and Bill Buoy; a maternal grandmother, Virginia Hoover, all of Shawnee; and several cousins and friends.Memorials may be made to the Vietnam Veterans.Services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday at Resthaven Memorial Park Trinity Chapel with Rusty Williams officiating.Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park and arrangements are under the direction of Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel.
