1919 - 1997
McLoud resident and former Macomb resident Ruth E. Dumas Brown died Friday at an Oklahoma City hospital. She was 78.Mrs. Brown was born January 9, 1919, in Rogers, Texas, to Grover and Pearl Lock Dumas.She attended school in Texas.She married Oscar C. Brown on May 14, 1953.She was the owner and operator of B and B Grocery.Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Rania and Brad Mauldin of McLoud; two granddaughters, Robin and Tricia Oles of McLoud; two sisters, Essie Dicky of Washington; and Lillian Curry of California; sisters-in-law, Nevis Horne of Medford; Jean Dumas and Ruth Dumas, both of California; and numerous nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar C. Brown, on September 13, 1990, and her granddaughter, Monica Mauldin.Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday at Prairie View Cemetery in Macomb with the Rev. Mike Craig officiating.Arrangements are under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.
