HANSON L. BREWER
1920 - 2015


Hanson L. "Hank" Brewer was born April 14, 1920, to Jim and Ida Brewer in Akins. He went to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 28, 2015, in Shawnee at the age of 94 years.
On October 18, 1939, Hank joined the Civilian Conservation Corp. He served in various locations.
He was honorably discharged April 10, 1942. On June 18, 1942, he enlisted in the Army Air Corps and trained as a flight engineer. While in the service, he was stationed in several countries, serving 32 months overseas. He was honorably discharged October 11, 1945, at Camp Chaffee, Arkansas.
Hank married Josephine Ozeretny on March 5, 1949. To this marriage, three daughters were born, Vickie, Brenda and Glenda.
He was employed at Tinker Field for 29 years. He retired September 4, 1973.
Hank and Jo enjoyed Bluegrass music, camping and dancing. They were both volunteers for Title 6. He loved to play dominoes.
He was a member of Temple Baptist Church. He was a devoted Christian and loved the Lord.
Hank was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and four sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Josephine; daughters, Vickie and Griffin Crosby of Lake Wales, Florida; Brenda Brewer of Shawnee; and Glenda Brewer of Tecumseh; grandchildren, John and Isabel Wiles of Dallas, Texas; Jason and Jennifer Wiles of Gahanna, Ohio; and Julie Wiles of Brooklyn, New York; two great grandchildren, Olivia and Liam Wiles of Dallas, Texas; one sister, Cleo and Carl Warrington of Cromwell; two brothers-in-law, Jerry and Pat Ozeretny of Shawnee; and Ernest and Sue Ozeretny of Louisiana.
He has numerous nieces and nephews, with one special niece, Shearon Newland of Glendale, Arizona.
Hank was loved by many friends which included his church family and his friends of Title 6.
The family requests memorial gifts be made to the Church Bus fund at Temple Baptist Church of Shawnee.
Services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 2, at Temple Baptist Church.
Interment will be at Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.
