1909 - 2005
Shawnee resident C. J. "Cassy" Blochowiak, 96, died Friday, May 6, at his home.He was born March 4, 1909 in Harrah to Wenceslaus and Veronica Blochowiak.He attended school at St. Benedict Catholic Church.On September 9, 1941, he married Mary R. Klish in Shawnee. She preceded him in death May 26, 2000.He was a sheet metal foreman for Tinker Air Force Base until his retirement in 1974.He was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church.He also was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.Survivors include five children, Bill and Brenda Blochowiak of Meeker; Mary Ann Blochowiak of Edmond; Dick and Nancy Blochowiak of McLoud; Charles Blochowiak of Ponca City; and Ed Blochowiak of Shawnee; thirteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and many other nieces, nephews and cousins.Mass of Christian Burial will be noon Monday at St. Benedict Catholic Church with the Rev. Maurus Jaeb, O.S.B. officiating.Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.Memorials may be made to St. Benedict Catholic Church or the charity of your choice.
