BILLY JOE ANDREWS
1930 - 2003

Billy Joe Andrews was born in Earlsboro, Oklahoma on December 22, 1930, to Jess L. and Browning Musgrove Andrews. He passed away at the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center, Martinez on Wednesday, January 1, 2003.
After finishing his schooling, he joined the United States Army and completed his basic training at Fort Ord, California and then continued to be a part of the permanent party stationed at the base, working with Food Services. It was at this time, during the Korean Conflict, that he suffered a serious injury that left him disabled for life.
After leaving the U.S. Army, Billy Joe went to work for the Oakland Meat Company and was a butcher there for over 20 years. Retiring, he settled in Northern California and spent his time pursuing the "first love" of his life - fishing and hunting. From the fields and streams of Yolo, Colusa, Solano, Sutter, Butte and Napa counties. Billy Joe and his "sports partner" Tom 'T.J.' Jones of Arbuckle, gathered many experiences and built many memories. The area around Ivory Mill Station was one of their favorites. Billy Joe shared these memories with his sons, daughters and his many friends and neighbors. When he couldn't be out and about in the woods, he enjoyed "Old Western Movies," raising "fighting" cocks and was a friend to everyone he met; always willing to lend a hand, help someone with a project, or teach them to fish.
His son, Mark Andrews of Napa; and his daughters, Cathy Hernandez and Sheryl Andrews of San Pablo, and Karen Long of Las Vegas; and his mother, Browning Musgrove of Fresno, Ca. survive Mr. Andrews.
A funeral service is scheduled at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8, at Kraft Bros. Funeral Chapel, 175 Second St., Woodland. Military honors will be presented at the conclusion of the service by the United States Army Military Honor Guard. The family will conduct private burial at a later date.
