1954 - 2016
Geraldine Spoon Abrams, 61, lifelong Little Axe resident, passed away Monday, April 18, 2016 in Norman, Oklahoma.She was born September 2, 1954 to Fred and Lillie Mae Polecat Spoon in Shawnee, Oklahoma.Geraldine attended Bethel Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1972 from Bethel High School.She married Dennis Abrams in 1996 in Tecumseh, Oklahoma.Geraldine worked for the Absentee Shawnee Tribe for 20 years as the Transportation Driver for Tribal members. Prior to working for AST she worked at Golden Rule Nursing Home for 13 years.She was a proud member of the Absentee Shawnee Tribe and attended the Little Axe Baptist Church.She loved taking care of her grandbabies and great-grandbabies; they were the focal point of her life.She was preceded in death by grandson, C. J. Belvin; parents, Fred and Lillie Spoon and sister, Christine Watkins.Geraldine is survived by her husband, Dennis Abrams of the home; daughter, Shanna Skelly of Tecumseh, Oklahoma; step-daughter, Melissa Lugo; two step-sons, Donovan Abrams and Scott Logan; two grandchildren, Jesse Belvin and fiancée, Amber Waggoner and Justin Belvin and fiancée, Kim Holt; three great-grandchildren, Brittani Belvin, Carlie Belvin and Addison Enoch; sister, Shirley Simpson; two half-sisters, Linda Foster and Flossie Dousett; brother, Steve Spoon; two half-brothers, Carl Spoon and Virgil LittleCharley; two nieces; five nephews and other extended family and friends.Service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Little Axe with Reverend Sonny Stewart officiating.Wake service will be held at the Spoon Family Home in Little Axe.Tribal Rites will be held Wednesday morning with George Blanchard officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
