PHIL "BO" FISHBURN

September 20, 1942 - September 18, 2017

Phil “Bo” Fishburn age 74, passed away Monday, September 18, 2017, at his home east of Noble. Phillip Roger Fishburn was born September 20, 1942, in Oklahoma City, OK. His parents were David Francis Fishburn and Lela Levetris (Albert) Fishburn. Bo grew up in South Oklahoma City where he attended school. In the early 1970’s he was drafted into the U. S. Army and proudly served several years during the Vietnam War. While in the service he married and started raising children, David, Gayle Wayne, Kristy and Jeff. On January 18, 1974 he married the love of his life, Julia Christine Finch. For the past forty years they have lived east of Noble near Little Axe. In his early years, Bo worked in the oil field on a casing crew. He then went to driving a truck and later did construction cleanup for 10 years. His family called him a “Jack of all Trades.” For the past 30 years, Bo did a little bit of everything. He was a fruit peddler, raised cattle, hauled hay and cut firewood. He even bought and sold anything he could get his hands on, going to local auctions and farm sales throughout the neighboring counties. His friends all knew him as “the man to call” if you needed something to buy, you could count on him to find it. For years he enjoyed fishing at Lake Thunderbird and helping his friend Mike Rosenfelt at his equipment auctions. When he wasn’t busy, Bo loved to talk politics and meet up with his friends at the local coffee shops. Most of all he loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids.

He was preceded in death by: Parents, David and Lela Fishburn; An infant brother, Jimmy Dale Fishburn.

He is survived by: Wife, Julia of the home; Three sons, David Fishburn and wife Kristine of OKC, Gayle Wayne Fishburn and wife April of Lawtey, FL., Jeff Fishburn and wife Heather of Noble; One daughter, Kristy Robinett and fiancé David Flores of Little Axe; Two brothers, Larry David Fishburn of Wetumka, Jerry Don Fishburn and wife Betty of Lawtey, FL; Four sisters, Norma Jean Lyles of OKC, Virginia Wilson of Ponca City, Sandra Kay Hock of Shawnee, Joy De Los Santos and husband Joe of Garfield, Arkansas; 14 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; Many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Thursday evening Sept. 21, 2017, at Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell. Graveside Funeral Services will be 10:00am Friday, Sept. 22, 2017, at Mars Hill Cemetery, 15 miles east of Noble on Etowah Rd, 1 mile north on Fishmarket road. Officiating will be Sonny Stewart. Pallbearers will be, Jeff, Gayle Wayne, David, Ryan and Tyler Fishburn and Mike Rosenfelt. Honorary pallbearer will be Kylan Fishburn.
