Edgar "Mac" McClellan Brown

Edgar “Mac” McClellan Brown, age 81, of Oklahoma City passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 in Oklahoma City.

He was born June 29, 1941 in Shawnee, OK to Leo I. and Edna V. (Emmons) Brown.

Mac was born on the family farm in Shawnee. He grew up in the Shawnee and Bethel area. He lived in Oklahoma City most of his life.

Mac graduated from Bethel High School in 1959.

He joined the U. S. Air Force in 1962. Mac proudly served his country for 23 years. He was an Air Force mechanic and was also a tailor of uniforms while serving.

After his military career Mac worked for a company that delivered equipment to construction sites, then for a company that built commercial air conditioners. He also was a small engine mechanic for several years.

Mac was a talented dancer. He mastered many techniques and was excellent at them all. He was a member of several dance troupes and clubs. Mac was a coin collector, enjoyed going to casinos and a master of many trades His family and friends say he was very talented at making money.

Mac was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary E. Sartin; and niece, Tracy D. Brown

He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Wortman of Maine; brother, Harold Brown and San of Shawnee; nephew, Kevin M. Brown of Shawnee; great nephews, Kevin Brown, Jr., Spencer Brown, Dayton Ballard and Dustin Ballard; good friend, Liz Simon; and many other family and friends.

Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, November 27, 2022. Service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 28, 2022 at Cooper Funeral Home with Phil Thompson of Liberty Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
