Wanda Lee Stewart Ross

Wanda Lee Ross, of Paden, Oklahoma, passed away, surrounded by beloved family, on Monday, March 10, 2025, at the age of 94. Wanda was born on February 18, 1931 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of W.B. "Bill" and Ruth Mary (Loafman) Stewart. Wanda grew up in the Econtucka Bottom. She married Kenneth Lee Ross on November 29, 1947 and the couple were married for more than sixty-eight years when he preceded her in death on August 11, 2016. Together, the couple farmed and raised five children. Wanda was a member of the Garden Grove Baptist Church for many years, where she often sang in the Garden Grove Quartet.

Wanda's greatest joy was her family. She loved her children dearly and was especially fond of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great, great-grandchildren. Wanda was a fierce domino player, she enjoyed fishing and was a skilled peanut truck driver, often with a heavy foot. Wanda was strong, hard-working and had a great love for her family and will be greatly missed.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of sixty-eight years, Kenneth Lee Ross; her grandson, James Blaine Carrel; her son-in-law, Kenneth Miller; her brother, Billy Stewart and two sisters, Geneva Loveland and Sarah Blocker.

Those left to cherish her memory are her four daughters, GaDawn Huston and her husband, Red, Carolyn Grayson and her husband, Jim, Kenda Ross and Anita Miller; her son Jackie Ross and wife Yolanda; her grandchildren, Angie Martin-Harris, Sheila Ross, Ryan Carrel, Becky Ross, Joanna Daggett, Dewayne Huston, Misty Vasquez, Anita Jo Vasquez, Dustin Miller, Samantha Guinn and Aaron Miller; nineteen great and eleven great-great grandchildren; numerous bonus grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
