Leonard Lee Rivers

Leonard Lee Rivers, 60-year-old, Earlsboro area resident, passed from this life on Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2014, at his home. He was born Dec. 2, 1954, in Shawnee to Linzy Lee Rivers and Letha Mae (Napoleon) Rivers. Leonard worked for years at TDK and then for Wolverine until his recent retirement. Both companies are located in Shawnee. Leonard was of the Baptist faith. He also enjoyed fishing and watching sports. He loved football and basketball, always pulling for his favorite teams OU and Thunder to win. Leonard leaves to cherish his memory three loving sisters, Velma Carr and her husband Eddie of Tecumseh, Vanessa Alexander of Shawnee, Oklahoma and Veada Capas of Shawnee, Oklahoma. Other survivors include, his nieces; Shana Marie Christopher and her children of Oklahoma City, Hailey Christopher and her son Greg; nephews, Robert Ervin and his wife Rachel and Robert's son Issac Ervin, Arsenio Carr of Tecumseh and his friend Kelia Harjo, Shawn Deshai Alexander of Shawnee and his friend Nikita Walker. Leonard also leaves a host of other family and dear friends. Leonard was preceded in death by his parents Linzy and Letha Rivers. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 13, at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole with Rev. Lee Oliver officiating the service. Following the service dinner will be served at the Earlsboro Fire Station. Services have been entrusted to Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
