Linzetta Simpson-Jackson, lifelong resident of Shawnee, Oklahoma was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 19, 2019.
She was born June 4, 1951 to Mae Lois Simpson in Seminole, Oklahoma. Linzetta was raised in Earlsboro and attended Earlsboro Public Schools. She was a 1971 graduate.
She worked at several places during her career, including the Up To Date Laundry, Shawnee Care Center and was an assistant at a daycare center in Oklahoma City.
Linzetta and James Jackson have been together for 25 years and got married on July 15, 2007 in Shawnee, Oklahoma, combined families, and reared 6 kids.
Linzetta was a God fearing woman and accepted Christ into her life at an early age. Linzetta was a member of Nelson Chapel CME. She was a very caring, loving person who would give her last to anyone that needed it.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mae Lois Simpson; and daughter, Alisha Lois Smith.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, James Jackson; 1 son, Adrian Akerson of Houston; 2 step-daughters, Jamie Jackson of Mississippi and Keesha Allen of California; 1 granddaughter, Kavontice and spouse, Kevin Davis, Sr. of Alabama and Kieoynntice Smith of Alabama; 1 sister, Melinda Jackson of Alabama; 3 great-grandchildren, Kevin O’Brien Davis, Jr., Kamaceo Geontay Davis and Khiyaun Emarie Davis; sisters-in-laws, May Helen Young of Shawnee, OK and Terry and Wade Walton of Tulsa, OK; special cousins, Frank Jr., Chris, Stanley, Nathaniel, Roger, Larry of Shawnee and Carolyn, Patty, Rhonda and Drucilla and includes 3 first cousins, J.C, Jr., Joann and Senobia; and other extended family and friends.
Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 22, 2019 and continue through service time. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Michael Harris, Ware Chapel CME Church in Earlsboro officiating. Burial will follow at Earlsboro Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
